Maheshwari silk fabric is a zari-woven silk and cotton fabric. The fabric was created by Maheshwar residents. Maheshwari Silk is a heritage fabric woven from Mercerized Cotton and Chanderi yarns in the town of Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, India.  The border design on the Maheshwari fabric is reversible. Both sides appear to be the same. Maheshwari Silk Suit Fabric is a multi-purpose garment made of pure silk and cotton that is appropriate for both casual and formal occasions.

Maheshwari fabric is primarily used in the creation of Maheshwari Sarees, Maheshwari Dupattas, Maheshwari Salwar Suits, and Maheshwari Kurtas. Maheshwari silk was traditionally used to make sarees, but it is now also used to make salwar suits, Kurtas and dupattas.

Some characteristics of maheshwari suits include: the fabric's smooth and soft texture. Maheshwari silk fabric is slightly sheer due to the low-density weaving. It has natural shine, giving it a lovely appearance. The fabric fits well.
